AUGUSTA COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — Virginia State Police is investigating a single vehicle crash with multiple injuries that occurred on Monday, June 8, 2026, in the 2500 block of Churchville Avenue.
According to Virginia State Police, preliminary investigation indicates that at 11:34 p.m., a 2013 Hyundai Veloster was traveling east in the 2500 block of Churchville Avenue when it struck a large rock in the roadway.
The Hyundai then ran off the roadway, struck an embankment, and overturned.
Two passengers, who were reportedly not wearing seat belts, were ejected from the vehicle. One of the ejected passengers was identified as 18-year-old Ruby Walker, of Staunton. The remaining four occupants, including the driver, were teen juveniles.
Walker and the ejected juvenile were flown to UVA Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The other juveniles were transported to Augusta Health with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
The crash remains under investigation.
