HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — Sentara RMH Medical Center announced Doug Moyer departed his role as president on June 2, 2026, to reportedly pursue other opportunities outside of the organization.

“We appreciate his years of service and his contributions to advancing high‑quality, patient‑centered care for the Shenandoah Valley,” said Sentara RMH Medical Center communications and public relations advisor Bob Grebe.

Jeff Joyner, Sentara SVP, Acute Care President for the Northwestern Market, will serve as interim hospital president as the process of identifying a permanent successor begins.

Grebe continued by stating that, “as the Harrisonburg community and surrounding Rockingham and Shenandoah Valley region continue to grow and evolve, Sentara is committed to providing the care and services needed for residents to thrive and enjoy a good quality of life.”
