HARRISONBURG, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) –Graduation season is getting into full swing in the Valley, as students at Bridgewater College will be the first to receive their degrees during Saturday morning’s commencement.

On Sunday, it will be Eastern Mennonite University’s turn to walk the stage.

EMU Provost Dr. Tyneisha Willingham said on the Mike Schickman Show that the ceremony kicks off at 1 p.m. on the front lawn, where graduates will hear from three featured speakers.

“Jose Koshy, he is a transformational technology in the industry of telecommunications, so it’s great to have him on our campus as well as our various student speakers,” Willingham said. “In fact, we have both an undergraduate student speaker as well as a graduate student speaker.”

Meanwhile, anxious seniors at James Madison University will have to wait until next weekend to hear Pomp and Circumstance play.
