HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) –The James Madison University Master of Public Administration graduate program recognized the 2024 Public Service Award winners during a reception on campus Tuesday.
One of the recipients was Harrisonburg Deputy City Manager Amy Snyder, who received the Excellence in Public Service Award.
Before the reception, City Manager Ande Banks recognized Snyder during Tuesday’s City Council meeting. “I just wanted to call her out and, I know that she’s already turning red which is also doubly great, but [she’s] just an amazing part of our team and an amazing member of our community and a true, down to the core of who she is, public servant so congratulations Ms. Snyder.”
Other winners include Louise Jennings, retired director of Kingsway Prison and Family Outreach. She received the Career Achievement in Public Service Award.
Elise Becker, Executive Director of the Marshall Legacy Institute, earned the John Noftsinger Alumni Award for Public Service Excellence.
Kailey Garrett with the JMU Community Engagement and Volunteer Center received the Public Service Student Leadership Award.
