WAYNESBORO, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Waynesboro Police Department announced that through an investigation initiated from two referrals received from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, identified James Davis Cox, of Waynesboro, as a suspect in the possession of child sexual abuse material.  

As a result of the investigation, Cox was taken into custody on June 1, 2026, and charged with 5 counts related to child pornography including one count of Possession of Child Pornography and four counts of Possession of Child Pornography – Second or Subsequent Offense.

Cox is currently being held at the Middle River Regional Jail without bond.
