HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Harrisonburg City Council approved multiple requests associated with the project “The Vista at Forest Hills” at 810 Port Republic Road.  

Planning first began in 2008 with a rezoning amendment and the approval to allow multiple family units and mixed-use buildings. 

The current request during last night’s meeting involved the approval of an additional 5th story of dwellings to the rear of the property above the proposed parking area and to allow for the reduction in required side and/or rear yard setbacks. 

The request was approved by a vote of 4 to 1 with Council Member Nasser Alsaadun voting no.
