HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) – Arts Council of the Valley’s Court Square Theater (CST) rolls out its June Wednesdays at the Movies! schedule, screening four different titles, with a special evening of Tea, Trivia, and Treats to accompany Pride and Prejudice on June 4. Come early for Jane Austen trivia from 6:30 to 7:00 pm, with prizes courtesy of The Lady Jane. Tea and delicious treats (from Bittersweet Bakery) will be available for sale at concessions while supplies last. Costumes are encouraged.

Tickets ($10; $9 for CST annual members) are available online, at 540-433-9189; and at the door 30 minutes before each screening. A full bar and concessions are available to enhance the Wednesday movie-going experience. Each month’s film schedule – and advance tickets – are available at courtsquaretheater.org. Wednesday film selections for June are:

  • The Ballad of Wallis Island (2025, PG-13, 1 hours 40 minutes) – An eccentric lottery winner who
    lives alone on a remote island tries to make his fantasies come true by getting his
    favorite musicians to perform at his home. June 4 at 2:00 pm.
  • Pride and Prejudice (2005, PG, 2 hours 9 minutes) – Sparks fly when spirited Elizabeth Bennet meets
    single, rich, and proud Mr. Darcy. But Mr. Darcy reluctantly finds himself falling in love
    with a woman beneath his class. Can each overcome their own pride and prejudice? The
    film was nominated for four Academy Awards and received the British Academy of Film
    and Television Arts Award for Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or
    Producer. June 4 at 7 pm (featuring tea, trivia, and treats); June 11 at 2:00 pm.
  • On Swift Horses (2024, R, 1 hour 57 minutes) – Muriel and her husband Lee are beginning a new
    life in California after he returns from the Korean War. Their newfound stability is
    upended by the arrival of Lee’s charismatic brother, a wayward gambler with a secret
    past. June 11 at 7 pm; June 18 at 2:00 pm.
  • Dial M for Murder (1954-PG, 1 hour 45 minutes) – Ex-tennis pro Tony Wendice (Ray Milland) wants
    his wealthy wife, Margot (Grace Kelly), murdered so he can collect her inheritance.
    When he discovers her affair with Mark Halliday (Robert Cummings), Tony hatches the
    perfect plan to kill her. However, when the set-up goes awry, Tony frantically schemes to
    outwit the police. June 18 at 7 pm.

Wednesdays at the Movies! will take a break during July – to accommodate CST’s three summer
youth camps – and return in August.
