RICHMOND, VA (Rocktown Now) – Governor Glenn Youngkin has ordered today that all U.S. and Virginia flags be flown at half-staff in honor of Memorial Day.

Youngkin said in the statement, “we remember with profound gratitude the brave men and women who gave their lives in defense of our country.”

Youngkin also ordered to display the POW/MIA flag on public buildings on Memorial Day in honor and remembrance of the service and sacrifice of United Stated Armed Forces members who are or were prisoners of war or reported missing in action.

The flags will be lowered at sunrise on Monday and remain at half-staff until noon.
