SHENANDOAH COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) – Virginia State Police is investigating a three-vehicle fatal crash in Shenandoah County. The crash occurred Friday (April 25), at 8:35 a.m. on John Marshall Highway, two tenths of a mile east of Back Road.
According to a press release, a 2011 Ford F-250 was traveling east on John Marshall Highway when it crossed a double solid yellow centerline, sideswiped a westbound 2010 Subaru Outback, and collided head-on with a westbound 2022 Toyota Camry.
The driver of the Ford, Roy J. Mongold Jr., 44, of Fisher, WV, suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Winchester Medical Center for treatment. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
The driver of the Subaru, a 24-year-old female from Charlottesville, VA, and an adult female passenger were not injured. Both were wearing seatbelts.
The driver of the Toyota, Alysia M. Coffelt, 28, of Strasburg, VA, died at the scene. She was not wearing a seatbelt.
Charges are pending as the crash remains under investigation.
