HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) – After more than two decades of serving the Shenandoah Valley with high-quality kitchen and bath design, Classic Kitchen and Bath is transitioning its operations to Dovetail Design and Cabinetry, effective March 1, 2025. This transition ensures continued service for clients, with the same experienced team joining Dovetail to maintain the high standards of design and craftsmanship that customers have come to expect.
Since 2001, Classic Kitchen and Bath has been a trusted name in the region, offering exceptional design services and building lasting relationships with homeowners, builders, and trade partners. Owner Jill McGlaughlin has been deeply involved in the local business and philanthropic community, serving as Chair of the Chamber of Commerce, President of the Shenandoah Valley Builders’ Association, and hosting An Evening of Hope for the ALS Association DC/MD/VA Chapter for over a decade.
“The Shenandoah Valley has been more than just the place where we built our business—it has been home in every sense of the word,” said Jill McGlaughlin. “We are incredibly grateful for the support we’ve received from this community over the years. While we are shifting our focus to our business in Wilmington, NC, it was important for us to find the right company to continue our legacy here. We fully trust Dovetail Design and Cabinetry to serve our clients and community with the same dedication and care.”
Dovetail Design and Cabinetry, led by Principal and Owner Amy Hart, shares the same commitment to excellence in kitchen and bath design. The transition will be seamless for clients, as the current Classic Kitchen and Bath team will be joining Dovetail as employees, ensuring continuity in service and expertise.
“When Jill and Chad approached us about acquiring their clientele, it became clear pretty quickly that it was a transition that made a lot of sense for all of us,” said Amy Hart. “Classic is so highly respected in our industry and region, and we share many of the same values and affinity for the Shenandoah Valley. That they would entrust us with their customers and portfolio is an honor.”
Similar to Classic Kitchen and Bath, Dovetail Design and Cabinetry offers full-service cabinetry and countertop solutions for every room, incorporating classic and modern designs, customized layouts, and products from respected manufacturers. The transition ensures that Classic Kitchen and Bath clients will continue to have access to high-quality products and expert design services under the Dovetail brand.
As part of the transition, the current Classic Kitchen and Bath phone number will remain active and will now connect directly to Dovetail Design and Cabinetry. Additionally, the Classic Kitchen and Bath Harrisonburg website will redirect to www.designbydovetail.com, where clients can find updated information and services.
While Classic Kitchen and Bath will no longer operate in Virginia, Jill and Chad McGlaughlin will remain closely connected to the area, with strong ties to the community and continued support for JMU and JMU athletics.
