HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) – The Harrisonburg City School Board approved the proposed 2025-2026 School Calendar at last night’s business meeting.  

However, the board will come back with a chart after gathering information through a survey with community and staff preferences in terms of weather days. 

Chief Academic Officer, Dr. Joy Blosser sent the survey to the 2024-2025 calendar committee for feedback. Translations will be sent to families and staff. They have gained input from all school levels in case more hours are lost.  

“Also, that information can be used when I bring a little amendment to the 25-26 calendar with potential snow days if we go beyond the five built in days,” Dr. Blosser said. “We have at the elementary level for the 25-26 school year. “

The vote for the proposed calendar was unanimous.
