ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Virginia State Police is investigating a fatal single vehicle crash that occurred this morning, July 15, 2026, on Oak Shade Road in Rockingham County.

At approximately 7:30 a.m., Virginia State Police received a call of a single vehicle crash involving a motorcycle on Oak Shade Road. 

According to Public Relations Coordinator Matt Demlein, the preliminary investigation indicates a motorcycle, driven by 41-year-old Cristian Fuentes Pizarro of Grottoes, VA, was travelling at a high rate of speed eastbound when it went off the right side of the road.  The motorcycle then went through a fence and Fuentes Pizarro was ejected.

Fuentes Pizarro died at the scene.
