WAYNESBORO, VA (Rocktown Now) — Waynesboro Public Schools announced that support is available for students and families following the shooting incident at Westwood Hills Elementary School this past Wednesday, September 2, 2026.

According to school officials, local counseling providers are offering a variety of counseling and trauma support services; many at no cost. 

Students and families may also contact their school counselor, psychologist, social worker, or administrator for additional support. 

Waynesboro Public Schools said they are grateful to the community partners for caring for and supporting their students, families and staff.
