ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — Operation Round Up, Shenandoah Valley Electric Cooperatives’ (SVEC) charitable-giving program, added $30,000 to area organizations’ budgets this summer to assist with an array of initiatives, including food and hygiene purchases, lighting upgrades, holiday gift shopping and a back-to-school celebration.

Grants are awarded through a fund supported by co-op members who reportedly voluntarily round up their bills. SVEC also provides a corporate contribution.
