HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — The community is invited to the “2026 Relay for Life: Festival for Hope” taking place on May 9, 2026, 5:00 pm-10:00 pm inside the barns of the Rockingham County Fairgrounds at 4808 S. Valley Pike, Rockingham, VA.

According to a release, this event brings together survivors, caregivers, families, businesses, and volunteers for an inspiring evening dedicated to the fight against cancer.

The Festival for Hope will feature:

  • A powerful Survivor & Caregiver Lap honoring those who have battled cancer and those who have walked beside them
  • A moving Luminaria Ceremony remembering loved ones and honoring those still fighting
  • Entertainment and family-friendly activities
  • Food trucks and community teams fundraising in creative ways
  • Opportunities to learn how the American Cancer Society supports patients locally and funds lifesaving research

Funds raised through Relay for Life help provide transportation and lodging assistance for cancer
patients, support services for families, and critical research grants — including those awarded to
Virginia teaching hospitals.
