RICHMOND, VA (Rocktown Now) — Governor Abigail Spanberger has issued a flag order for United States and Virginia flags to be flown at half-staff on Sunday, May 3, 2026.

She states that this is in honor of National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend.

“Virginia’s volunteer and professional firefighters run toward danger to protect their neighbors and communities,” said The Governor. “We honor the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.”

Flags should be lowered at sunrise on Sunday and remain at half-staff until sunset.
