CHESTER, VA (Rocktown Now) — Today, July 23, 2026, Columbia Gas of Virginia held a grand opening ceremony, officially cutting the ribbon on its new Operations Center in Staunton. The facility reportedly accommodates more than 70 employees.
The center features a modern warehouse and a drive-through warehouse loading lane and is designed to streamline logistics and improve service delivery. Inside, the building features advanced workflow enhancements aimed at boosting functionality and usability, ensuring a safer, more efficient and productive work environment.
“This new facility reflects our company’s dedication to growth and investment in Staunton and nearby localities, as well as our ongoing, strong partnership with city leaders and other local leaders,” said Columbia Gas of Virginia President and Chief Operating Officer Jennifer Montague. “We remain committed to providing safe and reliable natural gas service to all our customers in the area and beyond for many years to come.”
“This development marks a pivotal step for Columbia Gas of Virginia as we continue to expand our infrastructure and capabilities to support our workforce to better serve our approximately 34,000 customers in the Shenandoah Valley region,” said Columbia Gas of Virginia Vice President of Gas Operations Aaron Boeke. “The new facility will continue to be a cornerstone of the company’s operations in the area, fostering economic growth and operational excellence.”
The Staunton Operations Center serves Staunton and Augusta County including Fishersville, Waynesboro, Verona, and Stuarts Draft, and Columbia Gas’ entire Northwest operating area including New Market, Harrisonburg, Dayton, Elkton, Broadway and Timberville, as well as Albemarle County, and other Columbia Gas Operations Centers in Buena Vista and Lynchburg.
