RICHMOND VA: (WSVA) – Some Virginia voters made their voices heard during Tuesday’s primary, and the results paint a clear picture of what’s to come this fall.
In the Republican primary, Virginians chose former president Donald Trump by 29 points over Nikki Haley. Mr. Trump pulled in more than 63 percent of the G-O-P vote, compared to just 34-and-a-half percent for Trump’s former ambassador to the United Nations.
On the Democratic side, it was a clean sweep for President Joe Biden yesterday. He claimed nearly 89 percent of the state’s blue votes.
Unfortunately, low turnout was a hallmark – according to the Virginia Department of Elections, neither party in the Valley generated more than 20 percent turnout yesterday.
