SHENANDOAH COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — Shenandoah County has been officially classified as a “Certified Crime Prevention Community.”
Sheriff Tim Carter reports that the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services Committee voted to approve the historic certification this week in Richmond, marking the first time Shenandoah County has earned the recognition.
Achieving this certification requires law enforcement agencies to meet established standards that demonstrate an ongoing commitment to crime prevention through education, community involvement, and collaboration.
Shenandoah County joins just 18 other communities to achieve certification across the Commonwealth.
