AUGUSTA COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Staunton man who was arrested in connection with an alleged violent altercation in Waynesboro earlier this year reached a deal with prosecutors.

According to online records, Brock Johnson pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count of assault and battery of a family member during a hearing yesterday afternoon in Waynesboro Circuit Court.

In exchange for the plea, prosecutors declined to pursue the other charges for an unrelated incident.

The 47-year-old Johnson was then sentenced to time served.

Waynesboro Police officers were dispatched on the night of May 13th to a home in the 500 block of East Main Street for a report of a domestic assault.

Following an investigation, Johnson was taken into custody.
