EDINBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a suspect after receiving a report on April 6, 2026, of fraud that occurred at a business in Edinburg, VA.

Sheriff Tim Carter reports that after further investigation, it was discovered that a customer was placing multiple orders totaling over $43,000. After the suspects received the product, the business later discovered the purchases were fraudulent.

The suspected customer placing the orders has been identified as 30-year-old Ricky Abreu-Gonzalez of the Dominican Republic. He was arrested on the following charges:

  • 4 counts of Conspiracy to Obtain Money by False Pretenses
  • 4 counts of Obtaining Money by False Pretenses
  • 4 counts of Credit Card Forgery

Gonzalez allegedly attempted to fly out of the country, due to being a wanted by the Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office he was held by Transportation Security Administration (TSA) in New Jersey and extradited to the Rappahannock Shenandoah Warren (RSW) Regional Jail, where he is being held without bond.

The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) was notified due to Gonzalez attempting to leave the country, and a detainer has been placed on this individual.
