STAUNTON, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Staunton woman who led police on a low-speed chase last year will spend 10 days in jail.
According to online records, Susan Medeiros Burke pleaded guilty to three charges during a hearing yesterday afternoon in Waynesboro Circuit Court.
Among the charges include felony drug possession and DWI, first offense.
A judge then sentenced the 64-year-old Burke to four years and seven months in prison with all, but 10 days suspended.
Last August, Burke did not comply with an officer who attempted to initiate a traffic stop on Route 250 upon suspicion that she was driving while intoxicated.
After a three-mile chase well below the posted speed limit, Burke came to a stop and was taken into custody.
She was also sentenced to two years of supervised probation and had her license suspended for a year and a half.
