HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Harrisonburg man who led authorities on a chase last month after allegedly stealing a vehicle has a date with the grand jury.
According to online records, Leonardo Aleman had five of the six charges he faces certified to a grand jury during a hearing yesterday in Harrisonburg-Rockingham General District Court.
Among the charges moving on to the circuit court include grand larceny and eluding, both felonies.
The 26-year-old Aleman was taken into custody on April 15th after crashing a stolen vehicle on Warsaw Avenue in Harrisonburg during an attempt to flee pursuing officers.
He then tried to flee on foot but was later located near the railroad tracks on Maryland Avenue and remains in custody.
