AUGUSTA COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Augusta County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 24-year-old Steven Couch, of Stuarts Draft, on one count of felony child abuse and neglect.

On May 11, 2026, the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office and Child Protective Services launched an investigation after an infant was treated at UVA Health for a femur fracture.

As a result of the investigation, Couch was arrested at the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office. He was released by the State Magistrate’s Office on an unsecured $5,000 bond.

This investigation remains ongoing.
