HARRISONBURG, Va. (JMU Athletics) – James Madison fell to No. 12 Southern Miss, 11-1, in eight innings on Saturday afternoon in Sun Belt Conference baseball at Veterans Memorial Park.
The Dukes fell to 20-29 (10-16 Sun Belt), while the Golden Eagles improved to 36-14 (18-8 Sun Belt).
Three Dukes recorded hits, coming off the bats of senior Wyatt Campbell, junior Kyle Langley and sophomore Reece Moody.

Second Inning
USM struck first on a groundout, bringing in a run.
Fourth Inning
The Golden Eagles opened the game up with five unearned runs in the fourth, as an error allowed the inning to continue and the visitors to claim a 6-0 lead.
Sixth Inning
A single up the middle with two outs brought in a run for USM.
Eighth Inning
Southern Miss scored four runs to take an 11-0 lead, singling in a run before a three-run homer from Ben Higdon followed in the next at bat.
After three walks loaded the bases, Moody was hit by a pitch to knock in a run and get the Dukes on the board.
