Harrisonburg VA: Folks on Medicare are encouraged to stop by Harrisonburg’s Ralph Sampson Park this morning as a national bus tour dedicated to educating seniors about new benefits now available to them.
The informational event by the group Protect Our Care starts at 11 o’clock inside the park. It’s part of a 10-state, 25-stop trek that the group says will cover more than seven thousand miles.
Today’s conversation will center around new Medicare benefits, like free shingles vaccinations, 35-dollar monthly copays on insulin, and lower prescription drug prices through the federal drug price negotiation program.
Mayor Deana Reed and Beth Bland with the Valley Program for Aging Services are expected to speak.
