HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — The RHSPCA announced “The Price is Right” adoption event taking place Saturday, May 16 and Sunday, May 17 from 10 AM to 4 PM at the Rockingham Harrisonburg SPCA at 2170 Old Furnace Road, Harrisonburg, VA.

According to a release, the event is designed to make pet adoption both fun and accessible. Adoption fees for dogs over 40 lbs. will be determined by a Plinko board game drop.

“We are heading into summer at near capacity for dogs, so this adoption event is all about creating space while helping deserving dogs find loving homes,” said Executive Director, Huck Nawaz. “Adoption fees will be determined by chance through a fun Plinko game, with fees as low as free and no more than $75. We hope families can take advantage of the savings to spoil their new best friend with supplies, treats, and everything they need to start their new life together.”

Adoption fees include:

  • Dogs over 40 lbs., maximum of $75.  
  • Dogs under 40 lbs., vary based on age. 
  • Adult Cats – $50
  • Kittens – $100

All pets are up to date on vaccines, microchipped and spayed or neutered.

The event reportedly aims to encourage community members to consider adoption while supporting the shelter’s efforts to provide care for animals in need of homes during a period of high capacity.
