HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Sentara RMH Wound Healing Center has been named a 2026 Healogics Center of Distinction.
The award is given to wound care programs that reportedly demonstrate consistently strong clinical outcomes. The designation follows 12 consecutive months of performance benchmarks, including patient satisfaction scores exceeding 92%.
“For patients dealing with chronic wounds, access to high-quality care can change lives,” said Jamin Engel, Sentara RMH Medical Center vice president of operations in a release. “Being named a Center of Distinction speaks to the expertise of our clinicians and the consistent, patient-centered care they provide right here in the Shenandoah Valley.”
The Wound Healing Center is part of the Healogics network, which supports nearly 600 hospital-based outpatient wound care centers nationwide. Through this partnership, the Sentara RMH program provides evidence-based care for patients with diabetic foot ulcers, pressure injuries, infections, and other chronic or non-healing wounds.
According to the center’s program leadership, the award is as much about culture as it is about clinical outcomes. The focus is on strengthening teamwork, accountability, and trust while continuing to advance patient care.
“To see a team thrive through commitment and growth—through education, skills, and accountability—is the most rewarding part of being recognized as a Center of Distinction,” said Alfred Grace, Wound Healing Center program director. “This team shows up every day for our patients and for each other.”
