HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) – Harrisonburg Vice Mayor Dany Fleming was elected to the National League of Cities (NLC) Board of Directors by NLC’s membership at the organization’s 2025 City Summit in Salt Lake City, Utah. Fleming is currently Virginia’s only representative on the NLC Board and will serve on its Legislative Committee.

“The National League of Cities has been incredibly valuable to Harrisonburg and communities across
the country,” Fleming said in a release. “NLC ensures local leaders have a voice at the federal level, where policy and funding decisions directly impact our residents. It’s also a powerful network for sharing best practices, building partnerships, and bringing solutions home to our communities. I’m honored to represent Harrisonburg and Virginia in this role.”

Fleming was also elected to the Board of Directors of the Virginia Municipal League (VML) at its annual business meeting, where he serves as Chair of the VML Urban Section – representing Virginia’s urban localities.
