ELKTON, VA (Rocktown Now) – A water hauling station in Rockingham County has been severely damaged by the winter storm.

The Town of Elkton reports that the Bear Lithia Spring Water Hauling Station is now closed after a roof collapse caused by heavy snow and ice accumulation this past weekend.

Officials say the closure is necessary to ensure public safety while the damage is assessed and future actions are determined.

A timeline for reopening has not yet been set.

This is a developing story.
