HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — Harrisonburg Public Works announced that new traffic delineators are in place on East Market Street at Betts Road and Betts Court.
According to an online video, this intersection now uses an R-cut design.
“Which means drivers coming from Betts Road or Betts Court can no longer cross straight across East Market Street. Instead, drivers should turn right and use the nearby U-turn or left turn lane to continue in the opposite direction,” said Public Works.
The video continues saying that drivers traveling northbound or southbound on East Market Street can still turn left on to Betts Road or Betts Court.
Public Works stated that these changes reduce conflict points, improve traffic flow and make the intersections safer.
Drivers are encouraged to follow the road markings, stay in your lane and drive safely.
