HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) – Data from Tuesday’s election indicates a political divide between City and County voters in the Valley.
According to the Virginia Department of Elections, area cities favored Abigail Spanberger for Governor with 70% of Harrisonburg voters casting ballots for the Democratic candidate.
In Staunton, 60% of voters picked Spanberger, and in Waynesboro, 52%.
Meanwhile County residents preferred Winsome Earle-Sears for Governor, with 68% of Rockingham County voters pulling the lever for the Republican candidate.
In Augusta County, 72% of voters chose Earle-Sears, and in Shenandoah County, 68%.
