ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — On Monday, September 22, 2025, at 2:41 PM, the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) responded to the 5300 block of Cross Keys Road for a breaking and entering.
According to a release, the complainant advised a male armed with a firearm had entered the occupied residence, looked around for a short time, and then left without taking anything. Efforts to locate the suspect at that time were unsuccessful.
The next day, Tuesday, Septmeber 23, 2025, at 3:23 PM, RCSO responded back to the same residence for a breaking and entering in progress. The complainant advised a male subject had forced entry into the residence and forced the occupant to sit in a chair while the suspect walked around the house with a with a container of gasoline (Molotov Cocktail).
The occupant was eventually able to call 911 while the suspect was not looking. Deputies responded and took the suspect into custody without incident. Deputies were able to determine this was the same suspect who had entered the residence the prior day.
32-year-old Vasil Isaev of McGaheysville was charged with the below charges:
- Property Damage
- Preventing another from summonsing law-enforcement
- Brandishing a Firearm
- Use of Firearm in Commission of a Felony
- Abduction (2 Counts)
- Manufacture/Possession of Fire Bomb
- Breaking & Entering (2 Counts)
He is currently being held at the Rockingham-Harrisonburg Regional Jail without bond.
