ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — It appears that Matt Cross, who is running for re-election for the District 3 seat on the Rockingham County School Board, has been hit with a fine.

According to a letter to Cross from Rockingham County Voter Registrar Lisa Gooden, Cross filed 11 scheduled reports past the required deadlines going all the way back to 2022.

The letter went on to state that according to the civil penalty scheduled adopted by the state board of elections, Cross’ campaign committee must be assessed a 92-hundred-dollar penalty to be paid to the Rockingham County Treasurer.

WSVA and Rocktown Now has reached out to Cross for comment. He has 60 days to file an appeal to the State Board of Elections if he wishes.
