HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Harrisonburg Planning Commission recommended a large apartment complex at last night’s meeting that could mean big changes for the city.
The proposal requires nearly 3-acres to be rezoned in the Lindsey Funeral Home area of South Main Street for a six-story apartment building called “The Link.”
The complex would include a maximum of 265 units with nearly 600 bedrooms and offer a total of 2-thousand square feet of commercial space for businesses like coffee shops and restaurants.
Despite some initial pushback from Commissioner Shannon Porter over the plan’s emphasis on college students over city workers, the proposal was unanimously approved by the commission.
