STAUNTON, VA (Rocktown Now) — Staunton Parks and Recreation is inviting residents of all ages to celebrate Play All Day VA on Friday, June 20, and make the most of the longest day of the year by getting outside in Staunton.

Organized by the Virginia Recreation and Park Society, Play All Day VA is a statewide initiative to highlight the importance of play for all ages, abilities, and interests. Communities across Virginia are participating with free or discounted programming, special events, and park-focused fun.

Play All Day VA is celebrated on the summer solstice, the longest day of the year, giving everyone an opportunity to get out and discover all that Staunton Parks and Recreation offers throughout the community. To celebrate, Staunton Parks and Recreation encourages everyone to explore new parks or try a new activity.

Scheduled activities at the Gypsy Hill Park Bandstand include:

  • 9 a.m. – Yoga with Riva
  • 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. – Tree Climbing with Vivid Earth Adventures
  • 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. – Gaming Gone Mobile
