GROTTOES, VA (Rocktown Now) — The beloved Grottoes Pool is officially reopening on Saturday, May 24.

The pool, located in Grand Caverns Park, will celebrate the grand reopening at 11am with a pool noodle ribbon cutting ceremony and check presentation. A food truck, photo display, kids games, and more will also be available.

The Grottoes Town Council voted to close and demolish the pool in February of 2023 due to prioritizing the town budget for other infrastructure items and not wanting to continue to invest in the pool. Due to public outcry and people speaking out to council, they voted to rescind the decision to demolish the pool and citizens formed a committee that is now the Grottoes Pool Preservation Foundation.

The pool will be open 7 days a week from 12pm to 6pm. The cost is $5 per person, $4 for residents, and kids under 2 are free.
