ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — Two local diners have been named in USA Today’s Top 10 Roadside Diners in the U.S. list.

Magpie Diner in Harrisonburg and Thunderbird Cafe in McGaheysville cracked the top 5 at number 4 and 2, respectively.

USA Today says Magpie Diner has “taken on new life as a top destination for a lavish brunch.” They shouted out their dishes that go beyond typical breakfast food like mozzarella and mortadella breakfast biscuits, strawberry panzanella salad, and Southern poutine.

The magazine noted that the Thunderbird Cafe is a top-tier diner and shouted out their classic Southern dishes like pimento cheese BLTs and fried catfish.
