DAYTON, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Virginia Quilt Museum, originally located in Harrisonburg, has moved to a new location in Rockingham County.

In 1995, the Museum moved into its first physical home in Harrisonburg with a collection of only 15 quilts.

In an online video, Executive Director Alicia Thomas says it’s exciting to start a new chapter in their mission to preserve Virginia’s quilting heritage at their new headquarters in Dayton.

Thomas adds that their current collection consists of 302 Virginia-made quilts housed in the museum’s expanded Silver Lake Mill gallery.
