HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) – Arts Council of the Valley (ACV) is thrilled to announce the opening of 5x5x25, a community-fueled art exhibition joining ACV’s year-long 25th anniversary celebration. This mixed-media show features 25 artists who have each created 25 new works of art (measuring 5″ by 5″) over the past five months.

The exhibition opens at Smith House Galleries May 2, during First Fridays of the Valley, with a 5-7 pm reception. Stop by to discover incredible works in collage, ceramics, fibers, photography, painting, digital media, and more; meet the artists; and enjoy light refreshments.

Participating artists are Gabriela Archer, Shelley Boyers, Eva Camunas, Derrick Chirinos, Rosie Clark, Halley Conrad, Jess Daddio, Agnieszka Elliott, Barbara Gautcher, Daniel Hall, Ruby Hostetler, Michael Hough, Brenda Hounshell, Ver Ikeseh, Julia Koehler, Feixue Mei, Ashley Sauder Miller, Abby Mundy, Shawn Pham, Porter, Mary Rouse, M. Shira, Billy Smelser, Herb Weaver, and Erin Katherine Williams.

5x5x25 is made possible, in part, by The Community Foundation of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County’s Earlynn J. Miller Fund for the Arts and the support of an anonymous donor. Installed through May 30, with in-person visits Monday-Friday (11 am to 4 pm), and Second Saturday, May 10 (10 am to 2 pm), the exhibition will also be available online in early May (valleyarts.org/smith-house-galleries-current-exhibition/).
