HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) – The Harrisonburg City School Board voted to reject the proposed changes from Rockingham County Public Schools regarding the Massanutten Technical Center Operating Agreement.
A chart comparing the City’s and County’s proposals was presented during last night’s meeting.
The categories included Voting, Enrollment, Leadership and Executive Board Leadership.
Chairwoman Emma Phillips said that the MTC process has been disappointing.
“I think you all know how hard I’ve been working to try and fix this relationship,” said Phillips. “I feel like a lot of trust was broken and the partnership feels broken in a way. Not necessarily beyond repair.”
The vote to reject the RCPS proposals was unanimous.
