HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — Beginning Monday, March 24, 2025, the Forest Service will temporarily close Tillman Road/Forest Service Road 101 on the North River Ranger District. The entire road is being graveled, and 40 culverts are being replaced.

The repair work is in response to storm event damage in 2018 and 2019. The Forest Service, along with the Federal Highways Administration, completed the crossing repair destroyed during Hurricane Michael. This year’s work will finish road reconstruction work on Tillman Road.

“Thank you for your patience as we work to improve road conditions and safety on this well-traveled road,” said District Ranger Gregg Slezak in a news release.
