HPD will hold presentation to educate residents on how to avoid scams

HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) – The Harrisonburg Police Department (HPD) will educate residents 60 years and older today, March 12, 2025, on how to avoid common scams and what to do if victimized.

The City of Harrisonburg’s Cybersecurity and Compliance Specialist will join the HPD’s presentation on fraud and scams as part of Harrisonburg Downtown Renaissance’s “Taste of Downtown Month.”

Attendees will be invited to a Dutch treat lunch at Pale Fire Brewing Company following the presentation.

The “Taste of Downtown” initiative was created to facilitate new friendships and combat the national loneliness epidemic.

The program will be 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at 409 South Main Street in Room 11.
