STAUNTON, VA (Rocktown Now) —A Staunton man was arrested Wednesday morning after he led authorities on a motorcycle chase.
Virginia State Police spokesman Matt Demlein reports that a trooper attempted to stop a Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle near the 211-mile marker of Interstate 81 northbound for failing to display its license plate.
The driver refused to stop, and a pursuit was initiated. The motorcycle eventually exited I-81 and onto Frontier Drive, where it crashed in a curve.
The driver, 20-year-old Destin Belletz-Brunelle, suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.
He has been charged with four counts, including two for eluding.
He was then released on summons and has a hearing set for February 11th in Augusta County General District Court.
