HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — Harrisonburg Fire officials continue to investigate what caused Wednesday’s fire that damaged a town home.

Deputy Chief of Operations Ben Zimmerman reports the call came in at around noon and fire crews responded to the eight hundred block of Vine Street.

“When we got there, we found fire on the first floor,” Zimmerman explained. “The resident had done a really good job of keeping the front door closed, which save a lot of damage with the wind that was blowing. If she would have let the air in, it would have been a bad day.”

Zimmerman added that it took crews about 10 minutes to have the fire under control and no injuries were reported.

He said the fire did not appear to be suspicious.
