HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — Harrisonburg City Council has voted to raise the limits on which household incomes qualify for personal property tax relief.
Commissioner of the Revenue Karen Rose explained to council during the meeting that the household income limit will go from $50,000 a year to $55,000.
“To keep up with everything, we thought a $5,000 increase in the net income would be beneficial,” Rose explained.
Residents also need to be over the age of 65 or have a qualifying disability to apply for relief, in addition to a net worth of under $100,000.
