HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — Big Brothers Big Sisters celebrates National Mentoring Month by kicking off its signature fundraiser.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Harrisonburg-Rockingham County will begin registration and fundraising for their 37th annual “Take to the Woods’ Bowl for Kids’ Sake” fundraiser Monday, January 27 at O’Neill’s Grill in Harrisonburg from 4:30pm to 7:30pm.

This year, Big Brothers Big Sisters hopes to raise $82,000 to help continue their efforts to provide one-to-one mentors for hundreds of local youth facing challenges.

The Kick-Off Party will include free appetizers, one free alcoholic or nonalcoholic drink, giveaways, a raffle, and information about one-to-one mentoring services, details on how to get involved as a sponsor, and support for putting together a team for the Bowl for Kids’ Sake event on February 28th and March 1st at Valley Lanes.
