ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — Rockingham County School Superintendent Dr. Larry Shifflett unveiled his comprehensive plan for the school division at Monday night’s school board meeting.
Shiflett explained that the plan identifies what the board wants to set as goals for the next five years.
“We’ve got the priority area such as school safety, academic excellence, employment recruitment and retention, community engagement, student behavior and health as well as stewardship,” Shifflett said. “We also talk about assessment data and student success and what data we are using to measure that.”
School board members will have until December 9th to review the 20-page plan before voting on it.
Also, Dr. Shiflett will be sending out a video this week to students, parents, and staff wishing them a Happy Thanksgiving. He will also challenge everyone to maintain an attitude of gratitude by find three new things every day for which they are grateful.
