BROADWAY, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – The Town of Broadway has issued a Voluntary Water Conservation Alert.

The alert comes as the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality had issued a Drought Warning Advisory for that area.

In addition, the Town of Broadway’s water resources are below seasonal averages and continue to decline.

In response, all Broadway commercial and residential water customers are requested to observe voluntary water conservation measures effective immediately.

Those conservation measures include watering lawns only when needed, limit washing cars, reduce the washing of sidewalks and buildings and taking short showers instead of baths.
