HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — A former national champion with James Madison University football who also served with U.S. Capitol Police on January 6 is hoping to survive a congressional primary in Maryland today.

Harry Dunn is one of 22 Democrats vying to win the nomination for the Old Line State’s Third Congressional District, wedged between D.C. and Baltimore.

The top vote-getter in this primary will likely carry the general election as well in this deep blue district.

Dunn made a name for himself testifying before the January 6 committee in riveting detail following the riot.

The 2005 graduate of JMU quit his job as a Capitol Police officer to run for the U.S. House of Representatives.
